Challenge

I think it would be fun if we had a weekly or bi-weekly challenge to encourage us to try unfamiliar foods. I don't know if we should vote on a particular ingredient or cuisine we'd like to try (think eggplant or asian cooking) or if it should be a more general challenge just to try something new and then report on your results. This could be our opportunity to experiment and justify it to our husbands as being a challenge (they understand dares). Make up your own recipes, find something new to try online, or ask a friend for a tried and true recipe they make. What do you guys think? Is this something you would be interested in?

Definately! Let's start out with a general something new - if someone gets a good challenge idea, post it. My husband despises new things and I hate cooking things that are unappreciated, so you can imagine my cooking creative juices have gone a bit rancid ... this will be really good for my whole family!

LOL!! I just KNEW this was posted by B to make her hubby eat veggies:), and so I was so surprised it was Janet:)

I laughed and read it to my hubby and he heartily agreed, on the condition that the aim of trying something new is to become gourmet chefs and not just to be "diverse" (I'm not sure that he has anything against being diverse, he just wants me to start cooking things he likes!:)

Sure, I'm all for it, tho I'm in transition right now, so I can't participate until I actually have a kitchen of my own stocked with food (moving, you know:).
